Forum of Operational Safety in Land Assistance

Within the framework established in the State Operational Safety Programme, the creation of a ground handling forum has been taken as an action by AESA with the objectives of:

  • Establish a framework for cooperation between EASA and industry (groundhandling agents and airport managers) for greater communication and mutual knowledge.
  • EASA participation as a reference and support for improved operational safety.
  • The momentum in improving safety and security in the provision of groundhandling services.

The ground handling operational safety forum takes place through regular meetings to be held annually or every two years depending on the amount of work and availability, which address issues relevant to the groundhandling sector. From these meetings there are security issues that require detailed attention and are dealt with in working groups.
