COE Special Air Operator Certificate

Firefighting, rescue and rescue activities

With the publication of Royal Decree 750/2014, of 5 September, regulating aerial firefighting and search and rescue activities and establishing airworthiness and licensing requirements for other aeronautical activities, the rules governing aerial firefighting and search and rescue activities, and those applicable in the field of airworthiness and flight personnel to customs, police, coastguard or other similar activities, were approved.

In accordance with the sixth final provision of the aforementioned Royal Decree, since June 1, 2015, any air operator wishing to carry out this type of operation must have adapted to the requirements established in the Royal Decree and have a Special Air Operator Certificate or COE.

Pursuant to the third final provision of the Royal Decree, the Agency shall publish guidance documents for the application of the Royal Decree and its implementing provisions. In accordance with the above, the resolutions are published with the guidance documentation:
