Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC)

    An Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC) is a document that ensures the validity of the aircraft's airworthiness certificate and certifies that an aircraft complies with the required airworthiness standards after conducting an airworthiness review of the aircraft and its airworthiness maintenance records.

    Depending on the aircraft's characteristics and, in some cases, the type of operation it performs, the issuance of ARCs can be carried out by:

    • For aircraft subject to Annex I (Part M) of Regulation (EU) No. 1321/2014:
      • AESA, the Spanish authority, in the case of aircraft registered in the Spanish Registry.
        Form AC-ARC-P01-F15a.
      • Personnel in charge of the airworthiness review duly authorized on behalf of the continuing airworthiness management organization (CAMO) or the combined airworthiness organization (CAO). Form 15b.
    • For aircraft subject to Annex Vb (Part ML) of Regulation (EU) No. 1321/2014:
      • AESA, the Spanish authority, in the case of aircraft registered in the Spanish Registry.
        Form AC-ARC-P01-F15c.
      • Personnel in charge of the airworthiness review duly authorized on behalf of the continuing airworthiness management organization (CAMO), the combined airworthiness organization (CAO), or the approved maintenance organization (Part 145) that performs the annual or every 100 hours inspection.       • Independent Airworthiness Review Staff (PRA).

    AESA develops, in accordance with the points M.B.102(d) and ML.B.102(d) of Regulation (EU) No.º 1321/2014, the following public information guide:

    The issuance and/or extension of Airworthiness Review Certificates will be carried out through electronic signature via AESA's Electronic Office, following the process below:

    In cases where the issuance and/or extension of ARC is carried out by a foreign natural or legal person, sending by email to the mailbox acam-arc.aesa@seguridadaerea.es is allowed.

     

    Notification of issuance or extension of Airworthiness Review Certificates

    In accordance with M.A.901(p) and ML.A.903(f), whenever an airworthiness review certificate is issued or extended to an aircraft, a copy of it must be sent to the Member State of registry within a maximum period of 10 days.

    If the issuance or extension is carried out through the process for the “Emisión de certificado de revisión de aeronavegabilidad (ARC)” of AESA's Electronic Office, the notification is considered to be made automatically. In other cases, it must be notified through the “Solicitud General” of the Electronic Office, indicating as the Department of AESA to which the application is directed "“AESA Servicios Centrales”, detailing that it is an issuance/extension of ARC.

    In cases where the issuance and/or extension of ARC is carried out by a foreign natural or legal person, sending it by email to the mailbox acam-arc.aesa@seguridadaerea.es is considered an acceptable means of notification.
