The slot coordination and facilitation service is provided by AECFA to airlines and airports in a neutral, transparent and non-discriminatory manner, with the aim of achieving optimal capacity utilisation at congested Spanish airports.
The association AECFA is a private non-profit association, currently composed of an airport manager (Aena S.A.) and 14 airlines.
The slot coordination and facilitation services provided by AECFA are remunerated by payment of a public asset provision (public asset provision for allocation of slots) by airport managers and air operators.
Operators of Spanish airports designated as Coordinated or Facilitated and air operators with allocated slots or schedules at these airports are obliged to pay for this service.
