5. I have been taking the initial TCP training course for 7 years but I still do not have the certificate, can I still apply?

The issuance of the TCP certificate (EASA-142) will be carried out in accordance with the current Commission Regulation EU 290/20012 of 30 March provided that no more than 5 years have elapsed since the date of issue of the certificate of completion of the initial course.

2. Am I a holder of a TCP certificate issued by an ICAO Country is there any kind of validation contemplated?

Currently, there are no processes for the validation of Passenger Cabin Crew Certificates obtained with other Authorities. In the case of TCP certificates (EASA) they are recognised in EASA states provided that they are valid and there is no need to change documents when working in another EASA Member State.

12. How long are the results of the theoretical exams valid?

  • for the issuance of a light aircraft pilot licence, a private pilot’s license, a glider pilot license, or a hot air balloon pilot licence, for a period of 24 months
  • for the issue of a commercial pilot licence, an instrument rating (IR) or an en route instrument rating (EIR), for a period of 36 months
  • Completion of the theoretical knowledge examinations for the Airline Carriage Pilot License (ATPL) shall be valid for the issuance of an ATPL for a period of 7 years from the date of validity of: 
  • an IR entered on the licence, or in the case of helicopt

10. What are the options for an annotated PART FCL license rating?

Currently, the following options are considered provided that the requirements established for each case are met and accredited: 

  • Through a Training Course in an Authorised Training Organisation (ATO or DTO)
  • Through the acceptance of ratings of type or class entered in license of a third country ICAO 
  • Through the recognition of national military licences

8. What is an Enabling?

An authorisation is an official authorisation that must be entered into force in the PART FCL license for the exercise of its powers. A rating may grant you additional privileges or allow you to do something you can't do without it, such as flying at night or flying on a different class of aircraft.
