Frequently asked questions

Tariff 15 of the current charges for the provision of services and activities in the field of air navigation.

No, it is not required.

Aeromedical assessments shall be carried out by any professional authorised by an EASA authority for that purpose.

Regulation (EU) 1178/2011: MED.C.005(c).

If your flight attendant certificate is no longer valid (unless the certificate has been suspended or revoked) you will have to re-take the initial training at an approved centre or air operator, take the associated examination and re-apply.

The issue may in this case be made in any EASA member country.

Regulation (EU)1178/2011: CC.CCA.100.

No; you can only hold a valid Flight Attendant Certificate issued by a single EASA aviation authority.

The cabin crew certificate issued by any EASA authority is recognised in all Member States and it is not necessary or possible to change certificate, issue a new one in another authority or transfer it between authorities to work for an operator in another Member State than the issuing Member State.

In this respect, the holder of a Flight Attendant Certificate must inform the operator for whom he/she is to serve as a cabin crew member of his/her possession of the certificate.

Holding more than one valid Flight Attendant Certificate may result in penalties for the holder.

Regulation (EU) 1178/2011: AMC1 ARA.GEN.315(a)

Cabin crew member certificates are issued for an unlimited duration and shall remain valid unless:

(a) suspended or revoked by the competent authority; or

(b) the holder has not exercised as a flight attendant during the preceding 60 months on at least one aircraft type; or

(c) the holder has completed the initial training more than 60 months ago without having exercised, after the issue of the certificate, as a flight attendant.

The certificate holder shall keep the necessary documents to be able to prove that the certificate is still valid.

In the event that the holder of the TCP certificate cannot prove that the certificate is still valid, the TCP certificate shall be deemed to be invalid.Para obtener de nuevo el certificado, ha de completar el curso de formación inicial.

Therefore, for the TCP certificate there is no concept of "renewal" as such.

Regulation (EU)1178/2011: CC.CCA.105, CC.GEN.030

Cabin crew attestations are issued for an unlimited period and shall remain valid unless:

a) are suspended or revoked by the competent authority; or

b) the holder has not exercised as a TCP during the preceding 60 months on at least one aircraft type; or

c) the holder completed the initial training more than 60 months ago without having exercised, after the certificate was issued, as a TCP.

The certificate holder shall keep the documents necessary to be able to prove that the certificate is still valid.

Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011: CC.CCA.105, CC.GEN.030

The operator shall retain, and make available on request, the cabin crew certificate, roster, training and checking records pertaining to his type or variant of aircraft qualifications, unless such records are maintained by the operator employing his services and can be made available promptly on request to a competent authority or to the operator.

Regulation (EU) 1178/2011: CC.GEN.025(b).

When the objections (observations made) may lead to a change in the exam mark (PASS/FAIL), the mark will appear as provisional (PROV.).

Please note that according to European regulations, challenges (remarks made in the exam) will be eliminated from the exam if they are found to be wrong.

For example, in a 100-question test:

  • I have got 80 questions right and I have made 3 observations, the mark will appear as "PASS" because, even if those 3 questions are cancelled, the total is much higher, that is to say, the mark to pass is still 75% but on 97 questions. In other words, I will need at least 73 correct questions..

    • The mark will be calculated by dividing the total number of correct questions that have not been invalidated by 97 and multiplying by 100. For this particular case and assuming that the three challenged questions have been answered correctly, the number of correct questions would be 77 and the total number of questions in the exam 97, giving a mark of 79.38%.
    • Let's take another case for the previous example, now of the 3 contested questions two are correctly answered and one is wrong and 2 questions should be annulled, one of them the one that has been wrongly answered. Therefore, the exam will have a total of 98 questions, 79 of which are correct, giving us a final mark of 80.60%.
      .
  • I have got 74 questions correct and made 2 observations, the mark will appear as "PROV" because if:

    • The two challenges are valid and these questions have been answered incorrectly. We will have a total of 98 questions of which 74 have been answered correctly, obtaining a grade of 75.51%, with the final grade being "PASS"..
    • The two challenges are valid and one of these questions has been answered correctly and the other incorrectly. We will have a total of 98 questions of which 73 have been answered correctly, obtaining a mark of 74.48%, with the final mark being "NOT PASSED"..
    • If one of the two challenges is correct and the other is not, if the correct challenge is answered correctly and the wrong one is answered incorrectly, we will have: 73 correct questions out of a total of 99, obtaining a mark of 73.73% and the final mark will be "FAIL"..
    • One of the two challenges is valid and the other is not, if the valid challenge has been answered wrongly and the wrong one correctly, the following will be obtained: 74 correct questions out of a total of 99, obtaining a mark of 74.74% and the final mark will be "FAIL"..
    • NO cancellations are made because the challenges were not successful, the final grade would be "NOT PASSED" for not reaching the minimum grade, 75%, to pass.

  • If this is not the case, the note will appear on paper as it is..
  • When a provisional mark becomes a final mark, THE APPLICATION AUTOMATICALLY SENTS an e-mail to the applicant's e-mail address with the following text:

"Dear Candidate, We inform you that the theoretical exam of module XXXXXXXXXXX that you took on XX/XXXX/XXXXXX has been solved. Please access the management tool to verify the result. Yours sincerely".
