Unruly Passengers

In the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) we have a priority: the safety of all passengers and crew. To achieve this, it is essential that during the flight there are no inappropriate behaviors, such as:

  • over-consumption of alcohol,
  • have violent attitudes or provoke scandals,
  • smoking,
  • ignore crew instructions,
  • removing the belt or lifting during critical phases of flight,
  • or any other conduct that may jeopardize safety.

This type of behavior poses a danger to the flight and can lead to economic sanctions, as stated in Article 41 of Law 21/2003, on Aviation Safety.

According to article 55 of the same law, minor infractions can be sanctioned with a warning or fines ranging from 60 € to 45,000 €.

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in reports of such incidents. In addition to putting safety at risk, these behaviours cause delays, operational disruptions and costs for airlines.

Everyone – passengers, companies and the industry at large – must work together to prevent undisciplined behaviour, both on the ground and in the air.

Remember that each person is responsible for complying with the rules and following the instructions of the crew, thus creating a safe and quiet environment for all.

Don't put your journey at risk!
