Madrid, 14 June 2024 (AESA)

The Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), in collaboration with DGAC, organizes on June 27, on the occasion of the recent publication of the new Royal Decree 517/2024, which develops the legal regime for the civil use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), its first information day for direct non-EASA operators (carried out directly by a body vested with public authority responsible for the respective activity or service).

The day will be aimed at deepening the new regime applicable to non-EASA civil operations with UAS, such as customs, police, search and rescue, firefighting, border control, coastal surveillance, or similar activities or services. The most relevant aspects that affect this type of operations and, in particular, the new requirements for non-EASA UAS operators, new zoning criteria specific to non-EASA operations or the new organizational figures referred to in Royal Decree 517/2024 will be addressed.

Additionally, the new specific training scheme and the new training criteria for UAS remote pilots who are going to carry out non-EASA activities will be discussed, as well as the creation of the Faculties of specific training for this type of operations

This Workshop, organized by AESA, will clarify the doubts presented by the attendees, as well as allow focusing the new regulations specifically on non-EASA operators. The new regulatory framework will enter into force 20 days after its publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE), and will have different deadlines for adaptation to the new regulation in various areas, including non-EASA activities.

The workshop will be held in online format and will only be available to people who can prove that they belong to a public body that carries out or will carry out non-EASA operations. It is therefore important that the user fills in the registration form with an official email from the body to which he belongs. AESA, after receiving the request for registration on the day, will approve this request for registration after checking the validity of the email provided.
