The State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) has updated the information on drones included in its virtual assistant to adapt it to the modifications introduced by Royal Decree 517/2024, of June 4, which develops the legal regime for the civil use of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

Thanks to this update, users will be able to access from the website and Electronic Office of AESA to more accurate information and aligned with recent changes in national regulation. In addition, the response algorithms have been optimized to improve the accuracy and relevance of the information provided.

The database of the virtual assistant now has new questions and answers that reflect current regulations, incorporating aspects such as those related to Non-EASA Operations, new information regarding the Designated Entities and the training of remote pilots, updating the geographical areas for flights with UAS, minimum insurance requirements or that related to procedures in electronic headquarters, allowing the citizen to solve doubts in an agile and practical way.

Also, due to the large amount of information necessary for the drone sector, the chatbot is also designed to help the user locate the necessary information included in the scope of UAS of our website.

The chatbot of AESA, is currently implemented to resolve doubts regarding the UAS scope and use of the Electronic Headquarters, offers multiple benefits to users, since they allow immediate information to be obtained, reduces the need for face-to-face or telephone consultations, and is available 24 hours a day. This virtual assistance facilitates access to up-to-date data more efficiently, saving time and improving the user experience with the content included on the Agency’s website.
