The presence of birds poses a risk during aircraft operations. Therefore, in order to continue advancing in the improvement of operational safety, both in helicopter operations and in general and sports aviation, the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) has updated on its website two triptychs focused on the prevention of collisions with birds.

These materials include practical recommendations and advice covering all phases of the operation, from pre-preparation to subsequent actions. They are aimed at pilots in order to reduce, as far as possible, the risk of such events occurring and to provide guidelines for action should they occur.

Collisions with birds are a priority safety monitoring area at the state level, and light aviation is particularly sensitive to these impacts. In this context, AESA, as the authority responsible for coordinating the implementation of the State Air Safety Programme (PESO), continues to develop various initiatives aimed at mitigating the risks associated with these events, which may affect all types of air operations.

The updated leaflets are now available for consultation and download on the official AESA website.
