Request information

With the aim of strengthening the detection of actual or potential hazards by the sector, the current regulation allows access to occurrence information from both the national database and the European database.

To this end, EASA’s Success Notification System (SNS) makes available to you two information request forms which will be evaluated to determine the relevance of the request and, where appropriate, the amount and level of information to be provided.

Why can you request information and who can request it?

The reason for the request must be related to the improvement of aviation safety and not for other purposes, such as commercial or the attribution of faults or responsibilities, without there being an obligation to surrender in cases where it is not possible to ensure compliance, purpose, or reason for the request.

As a general rule, and in compliance with Article 10 of Regulation (EU) 376/2014, an interested party shall be considered to be any natural person, legal person or any official body, with or without legal personality, which may contribute to improving civil aviation safety and which falls within one of the categories of stakeholders set out in Annex II to the Regulation.

What information is provided?

The information shall be provided in an aggregated and unidentified manner to ensure the protection of the identity of the notifiers. The applicant may not communicate the information obtained to anyone without the prior written consent of the contact point and may only use it for the purposes indicated in the application form. In the event of non-compliance with the above requirements, the applicant may be denied access to further information and, where appropriate, may be subject to penalties.
