Occurrence reporting to the SNS

The reporting of occurrences is an obligation of the actors involved (individuals and organisations) in the Air Transport with guarantees of confidentiality and protection towards the notifier as set out in Articles 15 and 16 of Regulation (EU) 376/2014. In addition, any person who is not required to report may make his or her voluntary report when he/she perceives that the facts may constitute a real or potential danger to aviation safety.

Regulation (EU) 376/2014 lays down explicit reporting obligations for both persons and organisations, in the exercise of groundhandling, to be aware of occurrences occurring, namely Article 4(6)g.

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1018 of 29 June 2015 establishes a classification list of which occurrences in civil aviation are mandatory reporting in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 376/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council. In addition, the Annex to Act II of the Working Group on Reporting of Events for Groundhandling held in 2016 sets out a set of criteria on which occurrences are considered to be mandatory reporting.
