Director-General for Economic Policy — Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation

Ms. Elena Aparici Vázquez de Parga

Graduated in Economics and Business from the Complutense University of Madrid, General Economics, Quantitative Economics and Economic Analysis from the Complutense University of Madrid, Master in Portfolio Management by IEB and Leadership Program for Public Management by IESE and career official of the Higher Body of Commercial Technicians and Economists of the State since 2003.

She is Director General of Economic Policy of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and Counsellor of the Institute of Official Credit since 2020.

She was Director General of the Treasury and Financial Policy between 2018 and 2020. She has previously held different positions of responsibility in the General Secretariat of the Treasury and Financial Policy as Assistant Director General of the Treasury and Counsellor of the National Mint and Royal Mint Factory and vocal Advisor in different areas. Previously she held different responsibilities as Advisor to the Executive Director for Spain in the International Monetary Fund, vocal Advisor of international economics in the cabinet of the Second Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Economy and Finance, Counsellor in different public entities, vocal Advisor in the Cabinet of the President of the National Competition Commission and in the cabinet of the Minister of Education and Science. He began his career in different positions of responsibility in the Directorate-General for Community Funds.
