David Benito Astudillo
Born in Madrid in 1971, David Benito Astudillo is an Aeronautical Superior Engineer at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a career official of the Corps of Aeronautical Engineers.
He began his professional career as a consultant in the field of information technologies and telecommunications to, later, work as an advisor in the regulation of air transport in the public company SENASA, until his entry into the corps of aeronautical engineers in 2010.
As an official, he has held the positions of national auditor for civil aviation safety at the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), Head of Area of International Conventions in the Directorate-General for Civil Aviation and, since July 2015, the Deputy Director-General for Air Transport.
He is also a member of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Air Regulatory Expert Panel, Vice-Chairman of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) Working Group on Transport Economics, member of the EASA Governing Board and Chair of its Control Committee.
