The period of validity of aeronautical medical certificates that have expired during the confinement period shall be extended provided that the holder complies with and attests to the requirements defined in section (b) of the third provision of the EASA Resolution of 5.5.2020

According to the EASA Resolution of 5.5.2020, the validity of medical certificates issued in accordance with Part MED is extended for four months, which do not include limitations, except visual limitations (VDL, VNL, VML), valid on 14 March 2020, and whose ordinary period of validity expires before 31 July 2020.

The exemption measures applicable to the extension of the period of validity of the aeronautical medical certificate shall apply to those medical certificates valid on 14 March 2020, whose ordinary period of validity expires before 31 July 2020 and which are additionally not subject to the limitations defined in section (b) of the EASA Resolution of 5.5.2020

In accordance with the EASA Resolution of 5.5.2020 the extension of validity will be automatic, without the need to issue a new medical certificate. Interested parties must bear the medical certificate together with a copy of this decision.

Pursuant to paragraph (j) of the EASA Resolution dated 05.05.2020 the time period specified in point FCL. 735H (b) of Part-FCL, provided that the regular time period ends in that period.

Yes, the reference period is extended to the last 56 months, in accordance with paragraph (2) of the Fourth Provision of the EASA Resolution of 5.5.2020
