Type, class, instrument ratings - According to the aesa resolution of 18.03.2020, do I have to apply for the extension of the validity of the rating to aesa?

According to Article 9 a) of Order TMA/285/2020 of 25 March, adopting extraordinary flexibility measures in the fields of civil aviation not covered by European Union regulations in relation to the situation created by the global COVID-19 coronavirus crisis: Initial and recurrent courses that lose their validity in the period between the beginning of the state of alert and one month after its end shall automatically extend their validity until three months after the lifting of the state of alert.

I am exercising the privileges of a rating endorsed on an ICAO Third Country licence, is there any possibility of endorsing it on the PART FCL licence?

Provided that you meet the requirements for this, you have the possibility to undergo the procedure for acceptance of class or type ratings endorsed on licences from an ICAO third country. The following options are currently available:

  1. Annotation with restriction to ICAO Third Country registration.
  2. request prior authorisation from EASA for the endorsement of the rating without restriction to registration

I am looking for the compass compensation interval in the regulations 965/2012 and 1321/2014 and I can't find it. Specifically it would be for NCO and SPO. In the absence of national and/or European regulations (Regulation (EU) 1321/2014) regarding repetitive maintenance instructions relating to compass compensation, it is the manufacturers who would mark these instructions and if they exist, they would be incorporated into the maintenance programmes.

EPDE What kind of training courses does AESA offer?

The State Aviation Safety Agency may conduct, subject to a minimum number of attendees, theoretical and practical preparation courses which are not mandatory.

Preparation course for the theoretical examination:

  • It shall cover the following topics:
    • Documentation and operations in the air cargo logistics chain, given by EASA instructors. (the hours of this course are sufficient to comply with point 3 of the programme included in section 1.2 of this call).
    • Preparation for certification. Review of Regulation (EU) No 573/2010 and Commission Decision C (2010) 3572.
    • Basic explosives training.
  • The duration of the course would be 6 hours, provided that there is a minimum number of attendees.
  • The price of the 6-hour theoretical course is 384 €.

Practical course:

  • AESA would conduct a practical course of about 3 hours duration, provided there is a minimum number of attendees, next to the certification facilities.
  • The material to practice will be provided by the applicants (cans, boxes, etc.) and the price of the 3-hour practical classes is 192 €.
EPDE How much does the certification process cost?

The certification process is free of charge. However, the State Aviation Safety Agency offers a series of theoretical and practical courses, which are not compulsory, that interested parties would have to pay for.

EPDE When will the following certification take place and how can I find out about it?

AESA shall carry out between two and three annual certifications, depending on the availability of the State Security Forces and Corps, the facilities, the needs of the market, and the approved binomies, among other causes.

The publication of a new certification will be announced on the EASA website about one and a half months before the start of the certification in order to be able to collect and evaluate the documentation provided by the candidates for the tests.
