In order to hold language proficiency in the language accepted by the EASA Authority concerned, it is necessary to hold additional radio telephony privileges in that language and to have them recorded in paragraph XII of the FCL licence.

To transfer FCLésta license must be in force and have at least English language proficiency. The procedure requires submitting the FCL licence transfer application to AESA. The applicant must also contact the relevant EASA aeronautical authority to authorise the transfer of the medical file.

 

Ratings have a period of validity during which the flight privileges of the licence may be exercised provided that you additionally have in force the aeronautical medical certificate associated with your licence and the language proficiency in force at least one language recognised by the Aeronautical Authority

Remember if the rating is expired you can't exercise flight privileges until it’s in force again on your FCL license

  • Revalidation involves carrying out the procedure to maintain the vigor of the exercise of flight privileges. The revalidation procedure is always carried out before the rating expires.
  • Renewal means that the authorisation has expired and that the revalidation procedure has not been carried out in time and form. In this case, if you want to put your rating into force again, it will be renewed through an authorised training centre.

In connection with the verification of the FCL licence, the aeronautical authority of the ICAO Third Country may request it by sending your request to the following email address licpiloto.aesa@seguridadaerea.es

 

 

If the content of the license is expired, it is not possible to issue a duplicate. In your case you have the possibility to request a historical report of the license either through the Electronic Office of AESA or through application instance

Independent of the notification of the flight test carried out by the examiner, the documentation derived from the flight test carried out must be sent to EASA through the channels currently established for this purpose. The documentation received via email is not subject to processing

Provided that you meet the requirements for this, you have the possibility to undergo the procedure for acceptance of class or type ratings endorsed on licences from an ICAO third country. The following options are currently available:

  1. Annotation with restriction to ICAO Third Country registration.
  2. request prior authorisation from EASA for the endorsement of the rating without restriction to registration
  3. apply for both procedures
  • Prior to carrying out the ATPL skill test, the applicant must meet and certify the prerequisites and experience as laid down in Regulation (EU) 1178/2011 in the relevant aircraft category and hold the corresponding ATPL certificate of prior requirements and experience issued by COPAC or EASA
    The examiner with whom it intends to carry out the ATPL skill test must be expressly authorised to do so, by means of an authorisation letter issued by AESA at the request of the examiner. 
    The ATPL skill test shall be carried out under valid EASA means.
