Patricia Pérez, AESA’s new Director of Air Navigation

The director of the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), Montserrat Mestres, provisionally appoints Patricia Pérez de Juan new director of Air Navigation of AESA

Patricia Pérez will occupy the position of her predecessor, Enrique Fraile, appointed new Chief of Staff of EUROCONTROL.

AESA’s new Director of Air Navigation has a long history and professional experience in the aeronautical sector. She is an Aeronautical Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSIA) and studied the Leadership Program for Public Management at IESE Business School. Since 2010, he has been part of the Corps of Aeronautical Engineers of the State. 

She joined the Agency in 2011 as Air Navigation Inspector (ATM/ANS). In 2017, she assumed the position of Head of the ATS/ATFM Supervision Division and, at the end of 2018, she held the position of Air Navigation Safety Coordinator, attached to the Directorate of Air Navigation.

He has participated and represented AESA in specialised international forums and working groups, highlighting the groups of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) ‘EASA ATM/ANS Technical Body’ and ‘EASA Oversight Information Exchange’.

Before joining AESA, he worked in the field of civil engineering and consulting, participating in the coordination of different airport projects, first at INECO and then in PROINTEC.

In particular, the Coordinator of Air Navigation Safety, which has allowed me to combine my knowledge in Aeronautical Law, with the technical and engineering knowledge", assures Patricia Pérez after accepting her new position.
