Madrid, 2 February 2022 (AESA)

The State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) has a new liaison of the National Police, Inspector Ángel Manuel Siles García, of the Deputy Operational Directorate (DAO), which will facilitate cooperation between the two bodies in the field of civil aviation safety.

The specialised and cross-cutting nature of the activities requested by AESA of the National Police makes it necessary to appoint a person who coordinated all the tasks shared by the two bodies and acted as a permanent liaison with the aim of strengthening the presence of the National Police in the decision-making of civil aviation security; harmonise the strategies of the National Police in AESA and in the aviation industry (airport managers, air operators, security service providers); and promote synergies between the two organisations.

In addition, AESA and the National Police are working on a number of National Programmes of strategic interest to both, such as the National Civil Aviation Safety Programme (PNS): National Civil Aviation Training Programme (PNF); Dog Certification Program Explosive Detectors (EDD); coordination of aerial drills in the event of unlawful interference; or the National Facilitation Programme, among others
