Madrid, 04 August 2026 (AESA)

The State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) has appointed Eric Simón Sánchez as the new director of the Office of Flight Safety (OSV) Nº 6 of the Agency for Four Winds (Madrid), a responsibility he assumes with the commitment to continue promoting the highest safety standards and strengthen collaboration with supervised organizations.

Eric Simón has a solid professional career linked to operational safety and airworthiness, developing during the last six years his work as an inspector in the OSV of Cuatro Vientos. This experience has allowed him to acquire a wide knowledge of the operating environment and consolidate a dialogue with the organizations of the sector.

In addition, throughout his professional career, he has been distinguished with the Police Merit Cross, recognition that shows his commitment to public service, professional excellence and contribution to security.

The Flight Safety Offices (FSOs) are AESA delegations which, among other functions, supervise the activity of aeronautical organisations and provide support in the management and processing of airworthiness applications.

"The Cuatro Vientos Flight Safety Office operates in a particularly diverse environment, characterised by the presence of organisations with very different profiles, activities and needs. This heterogeneity constitutes a challenge and an opportunity to further strengthen the principles of security and cooperation that inspire the activity of the sector. I assume this responsibility with great enthusiasm and with a commitment to continue ensuring and promoting airworthiness and operational safety", Eric said after his appointment.
