Madrid, 29 January 2025 (AESA)

AESA's Event Reporting System (SNS) has received 59,405 notifications of civil aviation events during 2024, 15.5% more than in 2023, and 22.1% more than in 2019, prior to the pandemic.

The increase has occurred mainly in the reporting of low severity events, showing the improvement and awareness of the safety culture of the aviation sector in Spain.

This milestone shows the commitment to safety of professionals and national organizations, which have reported to AESA more than 450,000 notifications since 2006, contributing to the identification of potentially dangerous trends and implementing preventive actions aimed at increasing safety levels.

From AESA we want to thank all the notifiers who have relied on the SNS, a system that provides very valuable information to continue advancing the safety standards of the sector and make Spanish aviation a benchmark in this field.

The notified reports are processed, coded and analyzed by AESA, anonymizing the information and allowing the identification of risk areas for an adequate and efficient allocation of resources for the improvement of security.

You can consult our website the space dedicated to the Event Reporting System (SNS), where you can find information on some topics such as what is considered an event in civil aviation, who has the obligation to notify AESA, or who can request information about events, among others.
