Madrid, 28 June 2023 (AESA)

Last Saturday, June 24, the Gala RACE 2023 was held that put an end to the XLIX Vuelta Aérea a España 2023 and the XXXII trophy of S.M. el Rey, an event organised by the Real Aero Club of Spain (RACE) in its facilities in Madrid.

During the celebration of the closing event, the Icarus 2023 Awards were presented to individuals and organisations that have contributed to the development of General Aviation. Among them, the Icaro – Regulators Award was given to Elena Carrera, coordinator of Air Operations and Air Navigation of AESA, for her drive and work in the elaboration of aeronautical legislation.

Our companion took the stage to collect this award, thanking RACE for the delivery of this award that puts in value all the work carried out by the professionals of the Agency. “I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful team that helps me and supports me every day, therefore, this recognition is also for their work,” Carrera said in his words of thanks.

The event was accompanied by Marta Lestau, Director of Aircraft Safety (DSA) of AESA, and Ignacio Carretero, Air Navigation Coordinator.

We participate in the Vuelta Aérea a España

From AESA we did not want to miss the XLIX Vuelta Aérea to Spain 2023 and, for the first time in our history, we joined in this event. The director of the DSA of AESA, Marta Lestau, made the last stage flying from Pamplona to Cuatro Vientos (Madrid), representing the Agency and showing our support for General and Sports Aviation.  Along with it, this last stage also includes representations from other organisations such as ENAIRE or DGAC.
