Madrid, 25 May 2022 (AESA)

The AVSAF (Aviation Safety) training project enters into force on 30 May, and as of that date, all persons wishing to obtain a new or renew their access card to the area of movement and other unaccompanied operational safety zones must submit their AVSAF_P (Peatones) training certificate to the airport manager. Persons applying for a driving licence on a platform or in a movement area must attest to the AVSAF_C (Drivers) certificate.

The AVSAF Training Project is a joint initiative coordinated by the aeronautical authority and the Spanish airport industry including airport managers, groundhandling agents, work companies, etc. The objective is to provide all staff with access (without accompaniment) to the area of movement of an airport, with standardised and quality operational safety training at national level.

To do this, staff working in these areas must pass an online AESA examination with a database of questions covering all the basic aspects of operational safety and a system of control, monitoring and registration of training through AVSAF Training Organisations (OFAS).
