Madrid, 13 December 2024 (AESA)

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) are jointly organising a conference dedicated to fatigue risk management. The meeting will be held on 4 and 5 February at EASA headquarters in Madrid. The aim of the conference is to raise awareness among EASA Member States' aviation authorities, airlines and aircrew associations about fatigue and the risk it poses to aviation safety, and to raise awareness of the duty to mitigate it to as low a level as reasonably achievable.

The conference will focus on fatigue risk management methods and the differences between them, as well as ways to promote safety culture and fatigue reporting. It will also address the importance of training to raise awareness among all stakeholders on the importance of mitigating the effect of fatigue on crew performance and health.

Conference participants will hear about best practices in this area from a range of speakers representing airlines, crew associations and supervisory authorities. The conference is designed to create a platform for active exchange and open discussion on experiences, best practices and challenges around fatigue risk management.

In addition, attendees can submit their questions in advance by using the application Slido and entering the code #Fatigue25.

Registration for this conference is open via the EASA website. Go to it here.

Date: 4 and 5 February
