AESA begins pilot project to open new headquarters for aircraft maintenance licensing examinations

Madrid, 23 October 2025 (AESA)

The State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), as part of a pilot project for the expansion of sites to carry out theoretical knowledge examinations aimed at obtaining the Aircraft Maintenance License (LMA), announces the opening of a new headquarters in Salamanca.

Registration is now open for calls on 25-26 November 2025. The dates for the year 2026 will be published soon.

This initiative is part of AESA's commitment to facilitate access to training and certification of future Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, expanding the network of offices available in the national territory.

What is Part 66?

Part 66 is Annex IV to Regulation (EU) 1321/2014 and sets out the requirements for obtaining Aircraft Maintenance Licenses in Europe. This regulation ensures that technicians are properly qualified to carry out maintenance, repair and commissioning of aircraft, contributing directly to the safety of air transport.
