Madrid, 17 August 2026 (AESA)

The State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) has published new informative material with recommendations aimed at professionals and users of general and school aviation, focused on the prevention of landing gear failures. This risk is one of those identified as a priority within the events related to failures of non-engine systems, a priority area of operational safety at the state level.

This new material is part of the series of safety promotion publications that AESA develops within the framework of the State Operational Safety Program (PESO), with the aim of improving safety awareness and reducing incidents through a preventive approach.

The analysis of the events reported to the Event Reporting System (SNS) has made it possible to point out the failure of the landing gear as an area of special attention in general and sports aviation.

With this publication, AESA continues to promote the safety culture in general and sports aviation by disseminating practical and accessible information that allows the different actors in the sector to identify risks, adopt good practices and contribute to the improvement of operational safety.
