AESA organises a webinar to explain the functioning and benefits of the new procedure for the licensing of maintenance personnel (Part-66 and national).

Madrid, 8 January 2025 (EASA)

The State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) launched last October a new digital application for the management of licenses and certificates of aeronautical professionals in Spain. This meant the complete digitalization of this process, reducing administrative procedures and offering multiple benefits for both the user and EASA.

To ensure the efficient transition to the new procedure, its use was gradually made available by professional groups, the first group being the Passenger Cabin Crew (TCP). Following these, Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) – Part 66 and national - will soon be able to make use of this new option to request and manage their procedures at AESA's Electronic Headquarters.

Also, the Agency organizes an online webinar on January 15 to explain the operation and main changes offered by this new tool through practical examples. To access, you can connect through Teams at the following link. You can check the agenda of the meeting here.

Benefits of the new application

The implementation of this new application strengthens AESA's commitment to the continuous improvement of its services as a public body. The new procedure offers, as a main advantage, a digital environment to carry out all the procedures related to the application and management of licenses in a more intuitive and fast way for the managed one.

In this way, the user can carry out any procedure from the Electronic Office without having to use the official sending by registration for any request. In addition, through the new platform, you can provide all the necessary documentation for each procedure, as well as the requirements and conditions to act as a representative of another person. With this, the administrator will have an overview of the process of processing his file by being able to consult his status online.

On the other hand, for AESA, this new way supposes a greater efficiency in the entire procedure of processing the files, since certain processes and direct notifications to the user are automated.
