Restrictive measures for Maintenance Organisations in view of Russia’s actions in Ukraine

The State Aviation Safety Agency (ESA) informs Aircraft Maintenance Organisations that, by decision of the Council of Europe, it is prohibited to provide service directly or indirectly to any person, entity or body located in or for use in Russia.

The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) published Council Decision (CFSP) 2022/327 of 25 February 2022 amending Decision 2014/512/CFSP concerning restrictive measures in view of Russia’s actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine.

Among the measures taken is Article 4d(3), relating to aircraft maintenance:

It is prohibited to provide any of the following activities or any combination thereof: the review, repair, inspection, replacement, modification or rectification of defects of an aircraft or component, with the exception of pre-flight inspection, in relation to the products and technology referred to in paragraph 1, directly or indirectly, to any person, entity or body in or for use in Russia."
