EASA publishes details of the implementation of EU restrictive measures against Russia

Madrid, 15 March 2022 (AESA)

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has published details of the implementation in the aviation sector of the restrictive measures imposed by the European Union against Russia following its military invasion of Ukraine.

The notice published to interested parties intends to inform all stakeholders in the aviation sector of the measures taken by EASA to implement these restrictive measures with regard to applicants and holders of EASA certificates. The Communication also provides further information on the impact of those restrictive measures on some of the rights and obligations of aviation undertakings under the aviation safety rules falling within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2018/1139.

This is complemented by a detailed list of EASA certificates and approvals that have been suspended under these restrictive measures.

See the FAQs on the implementation of these restrictions prepared by EASA in collaboration with the European Commission.

In addition, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has issued an electronic bulletin underlining the security obligations of the States signatories to the Chicago Convention. (ICAO e-newsletter)
