Configuration Definition Documents

For some aircraft that do not have a valid type certificate in the national environment but which, in the opinion of EASA, have a history of in-service experience acceptable for the intended use and for which sufficient information on their characteristics and adequate documentation for use and maintenance is available, it is possible to obtain a restricted certificate of airworthiness. To do this, they must previously have a Configuration Definition Document (DDC) that protects them. 
In this situation we can find: 

a) Some aircraft models included in Annex I to Regulation (EU) 2018/1139, such as historical and exmilitary models.  
b) some aircraft models excluded under Article 2.3 of Regulation (EU) 2018/1139 such as the Kamov.
